Earlier today, I finished the season finale of Silo, the new science fiction show on Apple TV+ based on the Wool series of books by Hugh Howey (who also has a brief cameo in the finale). First off, there are several really great sci-fi shows out at the moment (such as Foundation on Apple TV+ and The Peripheral on Prime) and Silo easily ranks among the best of them. The story is engrossing and the cast is terrific, but what really pulled me in is the world that was created for them. The creators managed to make an enormous concrete cylinder into a massively compelling environment, partially through an absolutely fanatical attention to detail. The sets in Silo feel like not just a living world, but a lived in world—surfaces are gritty and worn and every object has a purpose, with most of them looking as if they have been repaired at one point or another. I can’t recommend the show enough, even if sci-fi is not really your thing. Just watch the trailer and decide for yourself. It’s a brilliant cautionary tale that feels altogether possible, especially given our current trajectory.

I got hooked on Silo and was sad to see it was at its finale. I didn’t even realize it was based on a book series. Either way, I’ll have to be patient and wait for the next season.
I enjoyed it as well, coherent story line, like you state the sets are really well done, lots of plot twists and turns (pun intended)and the ending shot leaves quite an impression - curios as to where it goes from here.
