A really cool post from designboom popped up in one of my feeds earlier in the week that I thought you might like. Canadian Photographer Christopher Herwig spent 12 years documenting thousands of bus stops across more than 30,000 kilometers and 14 countries of the former Soviet Union. By the way, I love Soviet-era design and architecture, so a project like this is right up my alley. As I was reading the designboom piece, I vaguely remembered seeing something about Christopher’s work years ago on National Geographic and was actually able to find the post. Christopher has produced two gorgeous looking books of photographs from the project (available individually or as a box set), a documentary, and a vinyl pressing of the soundtrack by Zodiac, which he calls the “Soviet Kraftwerk.” To see more of Christopher’s fantastic photos, visit his website or follow him on Instagram. You can also follow Soviet Busstops on Instagram.
