What is missing? Space. I really underestimated how much space I needed when I sold my old house and downsized. I went to far and now things are all over the place and I don’t start things because of the time it will take to align the needed things and then need to pack away when I am done for other work.

This also destroys my creativity at times because inspirations are largely hidden away as so not take up precious space.

Next space will have designated areas and I cannot wait.

I feel your pain Karl, perhaps more so. I'm in a 564 sq. ft house, two bedrooms living room, kitchen and bath (ie shower). Tiny house living in what amounts to a bungalow/cabin, but one that nobody really wants to see on YouTube. Fortunately for me there is a low ceilinged basement (which I can comfortably stand in away from ducting) that is the same size as the house above. It is however filled to the brim with stuff that doesn't fit upstairs, clothes, collectibles in boxes (?), kitchen pantry, water jugs, oh my god everything, absolutely everything. My 17" printer lives down there with tools and everything else that gets collected over 20+ years of being in the same house... and moving from a larger one. I'm facing the most difficult chore of my life now, 'shedding stuff', but it's essential. There are so many prints I want to make but just uncovering the printer and moving the printing tools (paper cutter, paper boxes, stamp, sign, and spotting tools) to the top of the washing machine (read work space) that it takes literally months of mental preparation to do. I've also begun processing film down there now as well... an obvious glutton for punishment... well the good news is that the house is paid for and one day we can leave it to our son. Good luck boy. lol.

I feel this! Sounds like we have a similar house although I have an extra 150 sq ft. I have the low ceiling basement as well, however at 6’8” being down there is hazardous to my health. Hoping I shrink as I get older.

You nailed it though, my house is paid for as well and that means a lot!

Good luck on that shrinking! lol. The older I get the more oblivious I seem to become to low hanging hazards, even without my baseball cap on. A contractor buddy that was replacing windows a while back suggested we do a better finish on the basement. I said the ceiling is too low. He said, we'll just jackhammer that floor out. I think it would be easier to raise the house and add a second, stronger, lower floor... but then my taxes would go through the roof. Back to square one, get rid of all this scheiss. Or perhaps nice shed? Cheers man.

PS, I do get a kick out of watching the 'tiny house' videos...

I don’t need that tax increase either! Lol.

I like the tiny house videos, some interesting ideas. They rarely show people working out of them though? Or they have another tiny house office.

Ha, no, most have just moved in and are showing off their new toy, right? It's interesting the folks who have actually lived in their tiny houses for a while seem to have outbuildings all around. And/or live in pretty temperate areas. I often think about an office space but it's just not financially feasible... being the horrendous business man that I am. Criminy. But hey, life's Ok all in all. I'd rather be here in my clusterf*ck than an office cubicle grinding away.
